Getting That Old Matress Clean
Everyone wants a comfortable and clean mattress. After all, it’s where we sleep. But there are a few things we all have to do to keep our mattress clean. And, as luck would have it, mattress cleaning is actually very easy.
Before you even have to worry about mattress cleaning you can keep your mattress smelling clean by simply putting a couple dryer sheets between the mattress and the fitted sheet. You don’t want to overdo the dryer sheets (too many could cause too great a scent) and you want to use a scent that you like.
One of your biggest problems with keeping a mattress clean is dust mites. These little critters aren’t harmful to you but they can cause your mattress to smell stale. This problem can be solved by vacuuming your mattress every six to eight weeks. Just be sure this cleaning includes vacuuming both sides of the mattress.
If you have children or pets, you’re probably going to have to deal with an accident or two on your bed. To remove urine, begin the mattress cleaning by soaking up as much urine as possible with a dry towel. Put pressure on the towel to get as deep into the mattress as possible.
Once you’ve soaked up as much urine as possible then you should spray on a cleaner that is designed specifically for urine stains. Then repeat the process of blotting and then spraying until the towel stops picking up any stains. Finish the mattress cleaning by sprinkling baking soda over the spot.
With a little regular cleaning you can have your mattress smelling fresh and new. And with some effort you can keep it that way even when accidents happen. With these easy tips you’ll be able to sleep in comfort knowing where you sleep is clean.
