Tips for Organizing Closets
If you’re like most people, you probably have a closet that’s a mess. You probably have shoes in the back that you haven’t seen for years and that old sweater is still stuffed into and hanging down from the top shelf. If you need help to get your closet back under control, here are three tips for organizing closets.
The first of the tips for organizing closets is to get rid of anything you don’t need. If you have a messy closet chances are it’s mostly because you have things in there that you don’t need anymore.
So, the first thing you need to do is grab two boxes and a garbage can to help you get organized. One box is going to be for giving away things to goodwill and the other one will be for storing until another time. The garbage can is for throwing out anything that’s not worth storing or giving away.
The second of the tips for organizing closets is to be realistic. Don’t tell yourself you’re going to wear those pants if you haven’t worn them for the last year. Unless you forgot about them, you’re not ever going to wear them. So give them away. Don’t keep anything that’s unnecessary. If you do you’ll need to clean your closet again in the near future.
The final tip is for you to promise yourself that you won’t let your closet get messy again. You’ll hang clothes up when they’re clean and you’ll put them in the laundry when they’re dirty. You won’t use your closet as a place to stuff things anymore.
Closets have a way of magically going from neat to messy in a very short period of time. So, almost everyone needs some tips for organizing closets. Three tips are to get boxes and a garbage can to sort all the stuff, be realistic when sorting, and to promise yourself you’ll keep your closet organized in the future.
